What’s That? Wednesday: Blue Tansy

Hi beauties!

I have started What’s That? Wednesday, a weekly investigation into ingredients you may hear about (good or bad) in the clean beauty world. This week, I am going to dive into Blue Tansy!

Blue Tansy

You may wonder how some natural, clean beauty products you see boast a bright blue color. This beautiful, vibrant color is derived from Blue Tansy, a flower that is steamed into the blue tansy essential oil. The main components of Blue Tansy are Chamazulene and Sabinene. Chamazulene is the ingredient to thank for the wonderful blue color. But both of these components deserve a standing ovation for their healing, anti-inflammatory properties.

Blue Tansy is wonderfully soothing on dry or irritated skin and is gentle enough to be used on the most sensitive skin!

Choosing a Blue Tansy Product

You should always do a patch test when trying out a new product. If you have allergies to some flowers or grasses, you should especially test this stuff out!

Additionally, do some research on the company you are buying from. Make sure that they are a trustworthy source as some companies have been caught using fake Blue Tansy oil!
